Enthusiastically concerning the course!

The course has been well built and is substantive. The course starts with an overview of existing architectures with the advantages and disadvantages. Afterwards toward an univocal concept of the term information architecture. Then coherently with the company processes and It-infrastructure it is worked through what the place is of information architecture. Beside the substantive treatment of architecture attention was also well given on the introduction and implementation of information architecture within an organization. The organization changes as a result. The impact, chances and hidden traps of this change get much attention with the emphasis on social insights and culture. The course has given me new insights which I can use very well within my field.

Exercises please still more!

About 7 years ago I read for the first time a sound book concerning information architecture of Wim van de Sanden and Bart Sturm (Information architecture, the approach concerning infrastructure, PANFOX) many ideas and ideas from that book triggered me irrisistable. I regularly afterwards searched for further information about the architectural approach. My idea was that early if organizations take an architecture approach this will lead to a controllable situation in the information requirements.

My most important reason for attending the course was to obtain concrete practical tools! As a goal I that I set myself I wanted to be able better to cooperate better with an information architect, understand his expertise and competence. Without any doubt this course contributed to a substantial way in my development. Especially our practice tasks addressed me very well. Possibly you could cut some more in the theory and in that place spend still more time on the practical finger exercises.

All in all I found it an excellent course. I find it a pity that it has now expired. Six days am tight to it I think. Certain now I have been involved in the development of an information architecture for a brand new municipality.

I now look different at my organization!

I must say that your course have been the right choice for me. Both the format and the content pleased me very well. The format was working with a small group course participants. Because the composition of the group was divers and the assignments were related to every ones own company situation, you got a good insight in what the major issues are in the different company branches. The hard side of the company was not only illuminated in the course but also the more softer sides such as change strategy and company culture. What I found particularly pleasant was that the location of to course was always differently, (dependent on where the course participants came from) the one time in Utrecht another time in Maastricht. The professors are very experienced and very well answered to stimulate so that with the course participants a good result arises. They do regularly projects which are related to information architecture, the experiences that they gained here are taken along in the course. This keeps the course therefore practical. Each day start with individual presentation the made home work. By the teachers now and then critical questions were asked concerning the presented material. I have noticed this as a very pleasant experience. All in all I have learned a lot and I can advise the course for anybody who has something to do with information architecture.
